I'm sure many of you know that December 25 is a very special day for our family. December 25, 2010 is the one year anniversary of us receiving Leia's referral. It was the day that so many celebrate with joy and happiness. But this is also the day that Xio Chi, her birthmother, chose us to be her family. She spent her Christmas last year in pain. She cried and made a choice, a choice that would forever change her live and the lives of so many others. I am so greatful for her choice. The choice of choosing us. While we celebrated Christmas with much joy and happiness in our hearts, there was a heaviness also there. I thought of Xio Chi often and wondered what she was doing, what was going through her mind, is she okay, does she regret her choice of adoption, or has the Lord helped her move forward in her life. None of those questions I have an answer, but I do know that Leia is loved beyond measure.
We had a wonderful Christmas. It is amazing how much fun the children have. It was a very stress free Christmas. I am so glad we changed how we gifted for Christmas. We only bought three things each for the children and everyone else received gifts that gave to another. And it was great. Our living room still looked like the toy store.
I hope your family had a memorable Christmas with all those that you love. May you cherish every moment and look forward to a new year with many blessings. We are blessed far above any of us can really fathom.
