Happy Chinese New Year

Leia is a little young to really understand anything about Chinese New Year, but we celebrated just a little.  We went out to eat Chinese food with Dad, Mom, Jeff, and Linda.  It was nice and relaxing.  The restaurant was so quiet and the food yummy.  We have not eaten Chinese food since we were in Taiwan (kind of had our fill for a while when we were there).  Leia and Carson love rice.  It has to be a genetic thing.  Carson ate rice before any other food as a baby.  People thought he would choke on it and it would get stuck in his mouth, but NO.  He loves it!!  Leia was kinda partial to the egg rolls too....and the Fortune Cookies.  I think she had three fortune cookies.
A Chinese tradition is to give your children money in a red envelope on Chinese New Year.  I plan on doing this and saving their envelopes for when they are older.  For those who do not know, Chinese New Year lasts two weeks and everything shuts down.  The government offices close.  Everyone simply spends time with their family.  And, I hear, there are really awesome festivals.
Our Chinese Princess is ready to celebrate
 Give me some food
 Liv and Pappaw
 Daddy and His Chinese Princess

 Eating some yummy Chinese cuisine
 Nana
 Olivia
 Logan eating his American cuisine
Carson, eating a little of both
waiting on Mommy and her food
 2nd bowl of ice cream
 Papa, Daddy, Leia, and Carson
 Daddy reading his fortune
Liv reading her fortune.  She is getting ready to be
promoted in her firm...lol
 Carson almost ate his fortune
Daddy's fortune read, "It is easy to make friends than
to keep them."

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!

Even though we don't have our little girl home yet, we celebrated a little for Chinese New Year as well. I sent her a hong bao in the mail and we ate fish and dumplings at home. Happy lunar new year!
