And On The 3rd Day

Genesis 1:9-13
And God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear."  And it was so.  God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together called Seas.  And God saw that it was good.  And God said, "Let the Earth sprout vegetation, plants, yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the Earth.  And it was so. The Earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind.  And God saw that it was good.  And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

Tuesday morning we spontaneously decided we were going to make a day-trip to the beach for our "Saturday" family day.  So, we packed up our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (David is so happy that we found grape jelly at PriceSmart...he is not a fan of strawberry), snacks, lots of sunscreen and headed out.

It is amazing how in this country one minute you are looking at steep mountains spotted with canopies from the jungle, to rolling hills, to green pastures, back to the jungle, and then BEACH.  The beach, in my opinion is one of the most beautiful things God created.  And he did it all in one day, the third day to be exact.

Costa Rican Architecture along the way

You see this and that used to construct homes here

At first glance you would think this is a barn, but
it is a home.

Who needs a concrete barrier when you have sticks?

This truck was in front of us hauling ceramic
tile sinks.  Note the 3 on the back end that are not
fastened.  I had my zoom lens on, David was not this close
to the bumper.

My kids spotted the Golden Arches.
We had to make a drive thru stop when we
were heading home.
Those thousand calorie fries were so yummy.

So glad I looked out the window in time to grab the
camera and capture this.

You can only imagine the shrieking screams
when their feet hit the sand.  All tranquility for
other beach bums was removed when we
arrived ; )

He loves to snorkel.

Gotta love a cute baby bummy.

They are waiting on the waves.

David found this Starfish just seconds after stepping
foot in the water.

God did this on the 3rd Day!!  Amazing!

This was Leia's first trip to the beach
since we were in Kenting, Taiwan.
She wasn't quite sure what to think at first.
But she soon warmed up to it.

Cool Dude!

If you could only hear her happy shrills...

She is testing it...thinking about it.

I could sit here and never get bored.

And the smiles begin.

Carson's version of riding the waves.
Maybe we will eventually invest in a Styrofoam boogie board.

He LOVES the ocean.

She thought the sand was pretty cool
on her toes.

They decided they did need the goggles.

Coming out of big wave.

Funny how they can entertain themselves with not
a single toy.

Wow...some tan lines from all his walking everyday.

Don't the goggles just add to the cuteness?

Starting to get a little tired I think.

Enjoying every little sand piece.

The BIGGEST fish I have
ever seen in person.

Gross!

The kids were very in AWE!

My favorite picture.

She just ran around doing her own thing
most of the time.  She loved the sand.

She was loving the sand A LOT.

She was telling the waves to "Stop."

She said, "This was the best day ever."

Just laying on the beach.  Happy as a lark.

He is waiting for the next wave.

Mr. Snorkel
